The Big 50th Anniversary will arrive on
Sunday November 21, 2010.
As the 50th Anniversary Committee continues its work, one
thing is clear, the year ahead is going to involve all ages and appeal
to everyone, not only within our congregation but cooperatively between
the three 50-year-olds -
Forest
Hill United, Calvin
Presbyterian and St. Francis of Assisi.

Did You Know?
- 814 Weddings have been
performed by Forest Hill United Church ministers
- The First Wedding was
held August 18, 1961 by Rev. Sam Soper
- Forest Hill's first
worship services were held in a portable that was located near the
present day driveway. The portable seated 200 adults and 100 children
and $50/month to rent.
- McIntyre Hall is named
after Forest Hill's first Sunday School Superintendent, George McIntyre
- The cost of the original church building was $113,800
- The mailboxes in the narthex of the church were installed
in 1991
- The Vision and Mission statement was created 1994
- Forest Hill's first organ was purchased for $13,148 in
1961. The present organ was purchased in 1985 for $45,000
- This year's photo directory will be the 8th. The others
were published in 1982, 1985, 1988, 1992, 1997, 2000, 2005
- Starting in 1965 and for several years, the UCW made
chocolate covered cream Easter Eggs from scratch!
- On September 20, 1981 nine babies were baptized by Rev.
Norman Watson using water from the Jordan River that Rev. Watson had
brought back with him from his visit to that region.
