Forest Hill’s Sunday Morning Kids’ Church Program
The Kids' Church program, for children from 3 years old through Grade 5, is based on the Workshop Rotation Model - an experiential, participatory, image-driven program for helping our children learn to follow Christ and be connected to the church. all the while providing them with a vibrant worship experience. The rotation model transforms the traditional Sunday School classroom setting into exciting, experience-based, kid-friendly workshops that teach bible stories. We gather together for large group opening worship, welcoming visitors and celebrating birthdays and other milestones. Once we have prepared ourselves to worship and learn, we break into small groups and join our leaders in the workshops. Forest Hill's workshops include:

HolyWord Picture Studios
In the HolyWord Picture Studios the children explore and experience Bible
stories through film and multi-media.

Synagogue Stage & Temple Tales
In the Synagogue Stage & Temple Tales workshop, children explore and
experience Bible stories through drama, story telling and games.

The Creation Station
In the Creation Station workshop, children explore and experience Bible
stories through arts and craft projects.

The Lord’s Kitchen Table
At the Lord's Kitchen Table, children explore and experience Bible stories
through cooking and baking.

Once in each five-week rotation cycle, we worship as a large group before
joining the adult congregation in the sanctuary for Communion. On these
Sundays, we sing, play games and participate in large group activities..

Forest Hill’s Sunday Morning Youth Group
Forest Hill's Sunday morning Youth Group (grades 6 and up) meets during the 9:15am service. This group focuses on building upon the four pillars of faith that connect us to Jesus and cultivating the spiritual disciplines that nurture us in life and worship. Youth are encouraged to delve deeper into the Christian faith through fellowship, prayer, Bible study and service/servanthood. Discussions also examine how our Christian worldview impacts relevant aspects of youth culture.

Junior and Senior Youth Groups
Junior Youth Group meets every second Sunday evening during the school year from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
Senior Youth Group meets every second Sunday evening during the school year from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m.

Forest Hill runs two weekly Youth Groups. The Junior Youth Group is for those in Grades 6, 7 and 8. The Senior Youth Group is for high school students. Both groups are for youth who want to grow together and support one another on their faith journeys. A typical meeting includes large and small group games, a time of "checking-in" about life, prayer and faith formation activities and discussion.

Other Youth Programs

Youth Retreats
The Forest Hill Youth Groups participate in two annual weekend getaway retreats designed to help us get to know one another better while hanging out and having fun in a camp setting. In the fall both Youth Groups travel to Camp Ganadaoweh for a weekend of fun and faith formation including canoeing, archery, a rope course, campfires and, of course.Gaga-Ball! In February, our Senior Youth Group travels to Camp Ganadaoweh with other United Church Youth Groups for a weekend of winter fun and faith formation.
